10 Fantastic Tips on Burning Excess Fat

In the USA, about a third of the population is overweight.  Being overweight can exasperate underlying health problems and lower quality of life.  This guide focuses on giving tips on how to burn fat through eating healthy.

Green tea is an amazing drink.  Get used to its taste and consume it on a daily basis.  Green tea raises your metabolism and has many proven health benefits.  It is a powerful tool in losing weight.  Have it with every meal and in between meals for powerful results.

When you eat at home you know what is going into your food.  You can also control portions, add extra nutrients in creative ways and enjoy a relaxed meal with family and friends.  When you eat out it costs not only money but calories.  Save eating out for special occasions only.

Get into the habit of exercise.  Find something you enjoy doing and make it a daily routine.  This will get your blood pumping and you will burn more fat while gaining muscle tone.  It will make you look better and feel better.

Smaller meals throughout the day are better than three traditional larger ones.  This keeps your body energetic, your metabolism flowing and you will not suffer from a crash after large meals.  You can also learn to eat healthier this way by packing along fruits and vegetables rather than relying of vending machines for snacks.

Water is the key to fitness, losing weight and overall health.  More water means you will feel less hungry.  Try drinking a glass of water the next time you feel hunger in between meals.  Sometimes thirst disguises itself as hunger.  Do not substitute water for meals, you still need those!

A smaller plate can trick your mind into believing you are eating more than you are.  A large plate with a small portion of food can leave you feeling hungry and wanting more.

Eating slowly helps you digest your food better and makes you realize when you are full.  Eating rapidly leads to digestive problems and overeating, maybe even binge eating.

Sweets are delicious, and you do not have to take them out of your life forever.  You do need to learn portion size, control, alternatives and moderation with sweets.  Sweets contain empty calories that are hard to burn.

Sodas can fill you up with empty calories.  If you eat out, order water.  If you like the fizz of sodas, learn to like sparkling water.  Soda, even diet sodas, can lead us craving more sweets.

Alcohol can lead you to making poor food choices at a party.  It also contains empty calories.  Beer lovers may be especially sad to learn that beer contains a lot of calories.  Opt for choosing alcohol for special occasions or limit your consumption to one drink a day if you are on a weight loss program.

These tips are easy to add into your life and produce the results you want.  One way to ‘have your chips’ when trying to eat healthily is to use a low fat air fryer such as the Tefal Actifry.  These fryers virtually eliminate the need for oil when cooking foods that are often best fried but without losing taste.  Following these tips diligently, and every day, will guide you along the road to healthy and fantastic weight loss!

There are many people who are put off hot air fryers as they think they can only do chips in them! Oh how wrong………. If you have poked around this site, you will have already seen the Chicken Tikka Masala video so basically, all you need is a little imagination to adapt some (but not all) of your favourite recipes. Of course there will be some that just won’t work because of the design of the fryers, but I’m sure you will be able to come up with many delicious ideas.

Use even less oil in your chips!

Hot Air Frying

If you want to get rid of even more oil when cooking your chips, try just spraying them with fry-light or similar. This is only one calorie per spray!

If you are familiar with the Slimming World diet, they advocate parboiling chunky chips and then putting them on a tray, spraying them with oil and turning them over half way thru cooking. You can do these in the Actifry or Philips Airfryer without parboiling or turning over (still need to shake the pan halfway through in the Philips though).

Don’t forget your roast potato and parsnips in the Actifry as well…  Oh Yes, if you freeze your own Yorkshire puddings or buy them ready frozen, you can throw them in your Philips Air Fryer for a couple of minutes instead of putting the oven on. Give them the usually shake and watch you don’t over do them – it’s quick!

Give this a try in your air fryer today and see what you think!

Variations on Chips and Wedges

You can jazz up your chips and wedges with the simple addition of some extras.

Try crumbling an oxo cube (any flavour) in the oil before you pour it over.

Or, add any of the following to the oil to vary the taste.

Crushed garlic
tsp mixed dried herbs
